VREB Education Requirements:

DAAR's POST LICENSING PROGRAM INFORMATION

16 Hour Requirement:

A Total of 16 hours of Continuing Education is required if your license expiration date is after July 1, 2004.

You must have 8 hours in the mandatory topics, which includes 2 hours in Fair Housing and the remaining 6 hours must be a minimum of 1 hour in each of the following categories: Legal Updates, Real Estate Agency, Real Estate Contracts, and Ethics & Standards of Conduct. The remaining hours may be real estate related or in the specific categories.

DAAR offers mandatory classes once a month:

 

  • 2 Hours of Contracts
  • 2 Hours of Ethics
  • 2 Hours of Fair Housing
  • 2 Hours of Law and Agency

Elective classes are offered online, in classroom and through correspondence.

30 Hour Requirement:

If you received a new salesperson license (active or inactive) after December 31, 2003, and this is your FIRST TIME RENEWAL , you will need to complete 30 hours of Post-License Education instead of Continuing Education.

 

You may only choose one track for your mandatory hours. Once you complete a mandatory course in a track, you must complete all of the mandatory hours in that track. The elective hours may be taken from any tracks.

 

Depending on what your real estate specialty is there are three different tracts of Real Estate Education: Commercial, Residential or Property Management.

  • Land Use Issues (1 Hour)

 

 

National Association Of REALTORS® 2-1/2 Hrs of Ethics Quadrennial requirement:

Effective January 1, 2005 through December 31, 2009, and for successive four year periods thereafter, every REALTOR® is required to complete 2 1/2 hours of Code of Ethics training. REALTORS® who have completed this training as a requirement of membership in another association or who have completed the New Member Code of Ethics Orientation during any four year cycle are not required to complete additional ethics training until a new four year cycle begins.

 

There are many ways to meet the requirement if you have not already done so.  The Dulles Area Association of REALTORS® offers a 2 hour Ethics class every month. You can register here . Also, you can take the class online Here . Realtor.org also offers an online class as well.


Dulles Area Real Estate School Post Licensing Program

Location: Dulles DAAR Office Classroom

The New Member Ethics & Orientation Class:

Starting September 12, 2005 the New Member Ethics and Orientation Class will change to a 2 Day Course. These classes will be held generally on the 2 nd and 4 th Mondays of the month. (Check the calendar for exact dates)

Ethics & Orientation Part 1 will consist of:

9AM-12PM   New Member Ethics (3 Hours PL & CE)

12-1PM   Affiliate Sponsored Lunch

1PM-4PM   Contracts with RGS (3 Hours PL & CE)

4-5PM   Antitrust & Legal Update

Ethics & Orientation Part 2 will consist of:

9AM-12PM   Real Estate Agency (3 Hours PL)

12-1PM   Affiliate Sponsored Lunch

1-4PM   Fair Housing (3 Hours PL)

4-5PM   DAAR Orientation Info with Doug & Swearing In with DAAR President

Class Costs: Free to DAAR members $35 per class for non-members
